Addressing Loneliness

A Church's Guide to Responding to the U.S.S.G. Report on the Epidemic of Loneliness in America

The Report

In the United States, the Surgeon General (U.S.S.G.) is a public health official who makes recommendations to improve individuals’ health and reduce risk of illness and injury.

  • Loneliness is more dangerous than six alcoholic drinks a day.
  • Loneliness increases the risk of premature death by stroke, heart disease, etc. by 30%
