She once said the church was her safe place — because home wasn’t.

Before the books and the sold-out arenas, Beth Moore was a girl from Arkansas with a broken past and a call to teach God’s Word.

She started small — leading Bible studies in her local church, even combining aerobics with Scripture studies to help people engage the Word.

Her first Bible study was rejected by publishers before anyone would take a chance on it.

But when it was finally released, it spread everywhere.

And soon, Living Proof Ministries was born — a movement that would help millions know and love Scripture more deeply.

But success didn’t mean ease.

Beth has been open about her painful past, her doubts, and her decision in 2021 to leave the denomination she’d long called home.

Not out of anger — but out of obedience.

She said, “Following Jesus means going wherever He leads, even when it’s costly.”

In her memoir, All My Knotted-Up Life, she writes about faith that’s messy, tangled, and still held together by grace.

Because for Beth, it’s never been about fame or controversy.

It’s always been about faithfulness — to Jesus and to His Word.

Her story reminds us that ministry doesn’t require perfection.

It requires honesty.

And sometimes the very pain we wish away becomes the platform God uses to reach others.
