God is God of all, and all must find salvation in God’s Son, Jesus Christ. It’s the essence of Paul’s message in the first eleven chapters of his letter to the church in Rome, and it is why we put our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord. Then, with Romans 12:1–2 comes a pivot point. “Therefore” (12:1) turns us from the “why” to the “what.” Why do we put our trust in Jesus, so much that we’re willing to turn our lives upside down and inside out for him? Because he is Lord. Now, what does that mean for how we live in the world? Renewal. In this four-week series, we discover how Romans 12–16 describes in sometimes uncomfortable detail just what it means: renewal of who we are, of what we do, with whom we do it, and of that to which we look forward.
