The congregation will see and be reminded of God’s constant activity and work, even when the world around us is falling apart. Israel serves as a reminder that God will always keep his promises, while Assyria serves as an example of how God despises sin. In Nahum, we see that mercy and justice do not conflict; our God has a just love for humanity.
