United Against The Enemy

In times of great struggle in a nation, entire communities often mobilize to participate and help. During World War II, people who couldn’t serve in the armed forces still helped by serving on the “home front” (doing their part at home). This involved participating in rations, recycling parts that could be used for the war effort, and volunteering as watch and air raid wardens in the evenings, among other responsibilities. Another element often evident at times like these is the setting aside of disagreements to unite and face a challenge together. The church engages in a war with the spiritual forces of darkness (Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 6:12), and nothing helps Satan more than when the church is at war with itself instead of at peace.
